Motor selection is based on the actual gate leaf weight and swing arc, measured during the survey before anything is ordered.
Fitting a motor to posts that have shifted or rotted transfers the strain to the automation, and the gate will bind or fail within months.
The survey confirms whether existing posts can carry the motor bracket and gate load before any work proceeds.
Untreated or poorly treated timber swells in damp weather, causing the gate to stick and forcing the motor to work against the frame.
